A Palm Sunday Service with a difference! I pick up on the elements of seeing/not seeing in the gospel accounts. In Luke’s gospel, Jesus weeps over Jerusalem because they “did not recognise their kairos (visitation from God).” The Coronavirus is a kairos that exposes things for what they really are. In Mark’s gospel, Jesus goes to the temple and “looks around” – ie recce’s the place, taking everything in. He bases his plan of action/confrontation for the days ahead on the basis of what he discovers. Whom do we see reflected in the mirror of the Coronavirus pandemic? What action will we discern Jesus is calling us to in response to the kairos?
